Shoulder 'twins' ready to play
Adelaide's shoulder reconstruction 'twins' Nathan Bassett and Scott Stevens have been cleared to play this weekend.
The pair have been following similar rehabilitation programs since having shoulder reconstructions at the end of the 2005 season.
And after joining the squad for most parts of the main sessions in the past couple of weeks, they are now ready for competition.
Bassett, last season's runner-up (to Simon Goodwin) in the club champion award, may even be considered for a run in Saturday night's NAB Cup grand final.
But there is plenty of competition for spots to face Geelong at AAMI Stadium.
Simon Goodwin (shin soreness) should return while Nathan Bock back), Hayden Skipworth (calf) and Jason Porplyzia (quad) are also expected to be available.
Meanwhile, Adelaide has decided to send Rookie Tom Redden back to his SANFL club Glenelg until the end of June.
Football operations general manager John Reid said the decision was made in the best interest of Tom as he had struggled to meet the standards of an AFL club program.
"Hopefully Tom can develop his football and cement a place in the Glenelg team over the next few months," Reid said.
