He was high among Sturt’s best in its big win over Central District at Unley, collecting about 30 possessions from half back.
Brodie Martin (14 possessions) started on the bench for Sturt and then had stints at half-forward, wing and at half back. For the Bulldogs, Jonathon Griffin battled hard in the ruck for eight possessions and 17 hit-outs.
James Sellar played one of his best games at league level for Glenelg in the Tigers’ 50-point win over Port Magpies on Monday. He recorded 17 possessions, seven marks, seven hit-outs and kicked a goal.
Tony Armstrong was probably the pick of North Adelaide’s Crows in its win over West Adelaide on Saturday. He sat out half of the opening term with the blood rule but controlled his position for most of the game and had 19 possessions.
Nick Gill (14 possessions) started well in defence and he also had a run in attack in the second half, taking a contested mark and kicking a goal.
Phil Davis (17 possessions) continues to grow in confidence in defence. His decision-making was good, as was his overhead marking and run.
Aaron Kite played on a wing for Norwood on Saturday and although he had only 11 possessions his Eagles opponent also was kept quiet. Jared Petrenko started well for the Eagles and finished with 15 possessions.
SANFL reserves
For the second consecutive week Rory Sloane was North Adelaide’s best. He was excellent at the stoppages and finished with 25 disposals and five tackles.
Greg Gallman (22 possessions) also starred for North across half back and was able to push forward to score two goals in his best performance of the season.
Jarrhan Jacky found some form with the Eagles, booting four goals from 15 possessions. Ricky Henderson played well for Central Distirct, finishing with 18 possessions and kicking 2.3. But Brian Donnelly (three possessions, one goal) had a tough day with Glenelg.
