The Crows will play for second spot on the AFL ladder against Gold Coast on Saturday afternoon.

Hawthorn all but wrapped up the minor premiership on Friday night, defeating West Coast by 25 points at the MCG. The win puts the Hawks a game and percentage clear of the Sydney Swans, who currently sit in second place.

If Adelaide defeats Gold Coast this weekend, the Club's likely qualifying final opponent is the Swans. Where this final will be held will be determined on Saturday.

If the Crows beat the Suns and Geelong beats Sydney, Adelaide will finish second and host the Swans at AAMI Stadium in the first week of finals. But if the Swans upset the Cats at Skilled Stadium, they will secure second spot and the qualifying final against Adelaide will be played at ANZ Stadium.

If Collingwood beats Essendon, the Magpies could also finish the minor round level with the third-placed team on 16 wins, but their inferior percentage is likely to deny them third spot on the AFL ladder.

Here are a few of the possible outcomes …

IF Adelaide beats Gold Coast, Hawthorn beats West Coast and Geelong beat Sydney, the Crows will finish second and host the Swans in a qualifying final at AAMI Stadium next weekend.

IF Adelaide beats Gold Coast, Hawthorn beats West Coast and Sydney beats Geelong, the Crows will finish third and take on the Swans in a qualifying final at ANZ Stadium in the first week of finals.

IF Adelaide loses to Gold Coast, the Crows could still finish third - percentage ahead of Collingwood, who must beat Essendon on Saturday to secure fourth spot.
