Crows assistant coach Scott Camporeale says star forward Taylor Walker will be given until Saturday morning to prove his fitness for the clash with Gold Coast at AAMI Stadium.

After taking 16 marks last weekend against Melbourne, it may well be Walker's hands that are slightly tender, but Camporeale said the club was confident the 22-year-old would line-up in the Gold Coast clash, which starts at 1:40pm on Saturday.

"He's just a little bit sore, so he's inside doing some touch work, not much point being out here, so we'll make a decision tomorrow on him," he said.

"Yeah, we're confident.

"Tex is an important part for us obviously going into next week so we'll make a pretty good call tomorrow."

Camporeale conceded that, due to the club's shock loss to the Brisbane Lions in round 21, resting players had been made difficult ahead of what looms as a promising finals campaign.

If the Crows win and either Hawthorn or the Sydney Swans lose, Adelaide will secure a home final next week for the first time since 2009.

While the club has endured a tiring season, especially given its success in winning the 2012 NAB Cup, Camporeale said fatigue wasn't an issue for the playing group.

"[We] probably got ourselves into a situation where it's (resting players) relevant in terms of this time of year, but I guess losing the Brisbane game probably put us a step back," he said.

"We need to be fresh at the right time of the year, we understand that, so I think we've managed the players really well so far.

"Obviously the core group's played a lot of footy, no doubt about that…our list is in good shape."
