Eddie Betts’ incredible goal from the boundary line has been nominated for the AFL Goal of the Year for Round Two.

Betts stole the ball off an opponent deep in the pocket of Adelaide’s forward line midway through the first term against Collingwood at Etihad Stadium.

Squeezed up against the boundary line, Eddie then goaled from an almost impossible angle with a classic checkside punt on his right foot.

Betts is making regular habit of slotting goals from the boundary line.

The elusive forward finished runner up in last year’s Goal of the Year competition with another astonishing checkside goal against North Melbourne in Round 13.

Betts won the award as a Blue in 2006 with yet another boundary-line beauty against Collingwood at the MCG.

Eddie is the second Crow to be nominated for this year’s award, following Patrick Dangerfield’s left-foot goal in Round One. Unfortunately, ‘Danger’ failed to win the week’s voting, with Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe earning the nod.

Fans can win a weekly cash prize of $200 and a grand prize of $5,000 just for voting.

This season, supporters can vote for the same player multiple times, but only once per 24-hour period.

Polls close at 11.30pm (SA time) on Thursday, April 16.
