Adelaide Football Club Chief Executive Officer Andrew Fagan made the following statement regarding the State Government’s announcement about the Public Transport Levy:
“The Adelaide Football Club can confirm the State Government’s Public Transport Levy will be shared amongst football’s key stakeholders in 2015.
“We are also pleased to announce that our Club will not pass on the levy to our Members next year, instead we will absorb the extra costs ourselves.
“With the levy now finalised, we will release 2015 Membership packages in coming days.
“There will be in most cases a minimal rise in prices, which were planned and established well before the Public Transport Levy.
“This reflects the higher cost of staging and attending matches in the heart of our city, and Adelaide Oval is no doubt one of the best sporting venues in the world.
“Our base 11-game membership will only increase by $10, while a 3-game membership goes up by just $5.
“The Club’s focus all along has been to invest more heavily in the match day experience and offer greater benefits to our Members.
“For several weeks we were in negotiations with other football stakeholders and the State Government, to reach a resolution which had no adverse effect on the 19th Man.
“Our Club has always been committed to ensuring our Memberships offer value for money and allow as many people as possible to enjoy our great game.”
