After consulting a specialist, Patrick Dangerfield has been ruled out of Sunday’s clash with Geelong at AAMI Stadium.
Dangerfield has a significant sprain of his right AC joint, but will not require surgery. The 23-year-old midfielder has been given a rehabilitation program and will be sidelined for between 1-4 weeks. The recovery time is dependant on how well his shoulder responds to treatment.
Dangerfield injured his shoulder in a heavy collision with Collingwood onballer Sam Dwyer in the first quarter of Adelaide’s loss to the Magpies on Friday night. He was able to play out the game under duress. Dangerfield hasn't missed a match since Round 19, 2010, having played the last 65 in succession.
