Ian Callinan hopes to be available for the clash with the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on Saturday.
Callinan missed Adelaide’s season-opener after suffering a knock to the knee in the Club’s final pre-season hit-out against Carlton. The classy forward trained on Tuesday morning, but will need to get through Wednesday’s main training session to convince the coaching staff he’s ready to resume. Young defender Luke Brown has recovered from bone bruising to his foot and should be fit to take on the Lions.
Damaging wingman/defender Brodie Smith has upped his training load, but will spend at least one more week on the sidelines. Young midfielder Mitch Grigg was taken from the ground on a stretcher late in Norwood’s SANFL win over the Port Magpies, but has been cleared of any damage.
The Crows will have a light run on Max Basheer Reserve at an open training session from about 10:30am on Friday before flying to Brisbane. Saturday’s game starts at 4:10pm SA time.
