Midfielder Patrick Dangerfield has been all but ruled out of Sunday’s clash with Geelong after having scans on his injured right shoulder.
Dangerfield sustained a sprained AC joint in the first quarter of Adelaide’s loss to Collingwood on Friday night. After receiving treatment, the brave 23-year-old returned to play out the game, albeit, under duress.
Dangerfield had scans on his injured shoulder on Monday afternoon and will now consult a shoulder specialist to source the best rehabilitation program available. It’s highly unlikely he’ll be available to play against Geelong this weekend.
Dangerfield hasn’t missed a game since Round 19, 2010, playing the last 65 in succession.
General Manager of Football Administration Phil Harper said the Club would provide the best treatment possible for the 2012 All Australian.
“It’s disappointing for Patrick. He’s been very durable and rarely missed a game over the past few seasons,” Harper said.
“As a Club, we are determined to get the best treatment to ensure he is back playing as soon as possible.”
The Club will provide a further update when one is available.
