After a tough 2013 season, the players (and coaches) are enjoying some much needed rest and relaxation, visiting several of the best holiday destinations in Australia and around the world.
Jason Porplyzia takes the title for the most exotic holiday destination, taking in the sights of Mauritius – a little island off the coast of Mozambique, Africa that boasts amazing beaches.
Avid surfer, Rory Sloane, also has his sights set on the sand and surf. Sloaney has packed his bags for the Maldives with partner Belinda. Defender Brent Reilly, who will marry long-time partner Jamie Lee this offseason, will also spend time in the Maldives (and Dubai) as part of his honeymoon and has plans to catch up with Sloaney and Belinda.
Andy Otten and Richard Douglas are also overseas, enjoying a getaway to Europe which also included a brief stopover in Dubai.
Asia seems to be the most popular continent to visit this off-season.
Shaun McKernan, Sam Jacobs, Sam Kerridge and Kyle Hartigan are among the Crows enjoying some downtime with their partners in Bali. Young guns Brodie Smith, Brad Crouch, Aidan Riley and Jarryd Lyons have all enjoyed separate trips to Thailand.
As is the norm, a few players are using the break to scoot over to the United States.
Sam Shaw has spent plenty of time on the golf course with his father; they enjoyed a round at the renowned Pebble Beach course. Shaw also caught an NFL game, cheering on the San Francisco 49ers.
Former college basketballer Ben Dowdell is also back in the States, catching up with mates. He went along to a Golden State Warriors NBA game and has been enjoying the sunshine in San Francisco.
Taylor Walker is earning some serious brownie points after inviting his mum to accompany him to America. Tex, who is progressing well in his recovery from injury, will spend 10 days with a world-class knee rehabilitation specialist in Philadelphia. But he’ll also get some time to relax, and take in the sights of San Francisco, Los Angeles and Boston.
Patrick Dangerfield, who is known to be a keen fisherman, has made a number of small trips within Australia. Danger spent some time around his native Moggs Creek in Victoria before heading north to Hamilton Island and the Northern Territory.
