Adelaide 200-gamer Nathan Bassett has won consecutive SANFL premierships as Norwood’s coach.

And 20-year-old Crow Mitch Grigg – who was not selected to play for the Redlegs in last year’s grand final – completed a breakout season with a premiership medal around his neck.

Norwood controlled most of the match but needed to resist a third quarter surge from North Adelaide before kicking away to a 40-point win.

A crowd of 36,685 attended the 40th and final SANFL grand final at AAMI Stadium.

Grigg, who made his AFL debut late this season, was the leading ballwinner in the decider, picking up 24 possessions. He also booted two goals in the final quarter, including the last goal of the match.

’It’s been a good couple of years,’’ Bassett said.

"It's just nice to back it up. The guys had a great year and such a strong side, there's some little bits about this team that make it hard to follow up so to have not won this year would have been very disappointing.”

Lewis Johnston tried hard for North Adelaide, which was chasing its first SANFL premiership since 1991. Johnston collected 19 possessions, took five marks and kicked 1.2 in a roaming role.

Woodville-West Torrens won both the Reserves and Under-18 premierships.
