Trade winds: Wednesday
Polec deal still complicated while the other Lions remain in limbo
Three-club play for Polec to Port?
Jared Polec wants to move from the Brisbane Lions to Port Adelaide, and it appears as though it's going to take the involvement of three clubs for it to happen.
The Adelaide Advertiser is reporting that St Kilda, Gold Coast and Greater Western Sydney are contenders to join the Power and Lions in creating a three-way trade to send Polec home to South Australia.
The proposed deal would involve Polec moving to Port for its first round NAB AFL Draft pick of No.14 and Lions ruckman Billy Longer moving to the Saints.
The Lions would then get another draft pick inside the top 20 from the Saints.
However, the Saints have said all along their aim was to secure three top 20 draft selections, which they've done through the trade of Ben McEvoy.
They also have the round two selection of No.25, following the free agency compensation awarded for Nick Dal Santo, who moved to North Melbourne on Friday.
Docherty done?
Deals for Longer to St Kilda, Elliot Yeo to West Coast and Sam Docherty to Carlton still need to be reached by the Lions.
However, it appears as though Docherty will become a Blue for selection No.33 and a possible later pick.
Fairfax Media is reporting the Blues and Lions have an in-principle agreement surrounding the deal.
It appears as through the Longer trade could go down to the wire with the Saints offering that pick of No.25 while the Lions are also keen on one of their three selections inside the top 20.
