Nerves aplenty for Christensen family
Allen Christensen says he'll be more nervous than Aaron on draft night
Aaron is an 18-year-old draft hopeful from the Geelong Falcons, while older brother Allen is already a premiership winning player with Geelong.
"It will be a nervous time for the family – I think I'll be more nervous than him," Allen Christensen said at Cats pre-season training on Monday.
"I think he deserves a chance, he's had a few (injury) problems, but once he gets in to the system, they'll fix him up, and I think he'll excel at AFL level.
"I reckon he's got the talent and the skill level and the desire to play. Hopefully someone gives him the chance because he deserves it."
If things don't fall Aaron's way on Thursday night, Allen believes his younger brother has the right mindset to bounce back and prove he deserves his opportunity.
"He'll be disappointed if he doesn't get picked up but he's the sort of kid where it will drive him," Christensen said.
"I know he looks up to me a bit, and seeing what I'm doing, and the desire to get to the level that I'm at, I think that will drive him if he doesn't get picked up."Twitter: @AFL_BenGuthrie
