Eagles bring Naitanui, LeCras' seasons to early end
Naitanui, LeCras won't play again this year after finals hopes die out
The club has confirmed that both LeCras and Naitanui will not return again this season as the Eagles count the cost of a horrid year with injury.
LeCras cracked two ribs in round 20 against Essendon. He battled on manfully and finished the match with five goals but missed Saturday night's loss to Geelong.
It has been a torrid year for the 2010 best and fairest and All Australian in his first year back from a knee reconstruction.
He broke his forearm in round one against Fremantle and missed two games as a result, as well as playing the first half of the year under duress. He then missed two matches late in the year due to an unusual stress reaction in his foot.
Nic Naitanui's season has been ruined by groin problems and the club has elected not to risk him again.
He missed the first five rounds following groin surgery in the pre-season. Naitanui then starred with a goal after the siren against North Melbourne in round eight but battled soreness until he was finally rested in round 18.
The Eagles have already lost Shannon Hurn, Daniel Kerr and Beau Waters to season-ending injuries.
Chris Masten was a late withdrawal last Saturday night with a thigh problem but should be right to play against Collingwood at the MCG on Friday night.
