Exciting Crow Eddie Betts is a finalist in the 2014 AFL Goal of the Year.
Betts received a nomination for his unbelievable running, checkside goal from the boundary line against North Melbourne at Adelaide Oval in Round 13. It was one of several miraculous goals the skilful forward slotted in front of the old scoreboard at Adelaide Oval, which resulted in the pocket being nicknamed the ‘Eddie Betts Pocket’.
Betts, who topped Adelaide’s goalkicking (51) in 2014, is up against Western Bulldogs first-year Marcus Bontempelli and Port Adelaide speedster Matt White for the Goal of the Year crown. Voting closes on Thursday.
