Adelaide’s 2019 Club Champion Brad Crouch says fresh faces could be exactly what the Club needs as it transitions into a new-look 2020.

With plenty of change on the horizon, the midfielder said the prospect of welcoming new players and coaches had the current playing group excited.

“The place is going to change a lot - there’s going to be a lot of new faces,” Crouch told reporters just moments after pulling on the Gold Jacket.

“I think that a new freshen up will give us a good look going into pre-season.

“For us players, we know there’s going to be change and that excites us.”

Crouch joined an illustrious list of past Malcolm Blight Medalists at the Club Champion dinner on Thursday night, including younger brother Matt who was crowned in 2017.

As pleased as he was to steal bragging rights back from his sibling, the win was bittersweet for Brad after a disappointing season for the Crows.

“It’s good every now and then to get an individual accolade,” Crouch said.

“It’s reward for hard work over a period of time - it’s a good feeling.

“But when [Matt] won, it came off the back of a strong year for us in 2017 so there was a big more energy around [than this year]... but it’s good to win one nonetheless.”

In an incredible turnaround, Crouch went from being sidelined for the entirety of 2018 to taking out the best and fairest a year later - something he was still wrapping his head around.

“Looking back to this time last year, if someone had said to me that I was going to play every game and win the best and fairest, I wouldn’t have believed them,” Crouch said.

“I was not in a great space with my body, but was lucky enough to get a good year under the belt [in 2019].”

After playing all 22 games for the first time in his seven-year career, he was pleased to say his body was still in good shape.

“[The body] feels really good, I didn’t need to have any surgeries and I’m back training already, with our own personal programs,” Crouch said.

 “I’m just happy to get through a season unscathed and hopefully I can put a few more together now.”
