Adelaide will hold “The Recruit” style tryouts to find more development players for next season’s Crows SANFL squad.
Footballers and officials from across the State can now register details with the Club and successful applicants will be invited to one of two training sessions in November.
A group of players will then be asked to train over the summer to be part of Adelaide’s 2015 development squad.
Crows GM Football Administration Phil Harper said the Club was eager to discover some talent from South Australian country and community football.
“These tryouts are an exciting opportunity for players who are not in the SANFL system,” Harper said.
“We are looking for players with a high level of skills, athleticism, competitiveness and most importantly work ethic.
“Our development program allows the players to work under our coaches and perhaps play league football, and they may still continue to be a part of their home club.”
Candidates must be:
- Aged 18-22 on January 1, 2015
- Have not played an SANFL game or been on an SANFL list in the past 12 months
Registrations open today and will close on September 22.
The two ‘try out’ training sessions will be held under the eyes of Crows coaches and development staff at Max Basheer Reserve, on Tuesday November 11 and Thursday November 13, both from 6pm.
Seventeen development squad players were used at league level with the new Crows SANFL side this year.
Mannum-based defender Michael O’Malley won the Dean Bailey development award at Adelaide’s Club Champion presentation last Friday night.
