Adelaide’s fan-selected Fantasy team has rebounded in style with a huge win over West Coast in Round Nine.

As expected, the Eagles were hit hard with a host of players missing due to the bye and provided little resistance to the Fantasy Crows. It was a welcome victory for Adelaide after a tight 19-point loss to North Melbourne a fortnight ago.

Our score of 1862 was the biggest total of the round in our league and propelled the Fantasy Crows two games clear in third position, sitting only a game behind top spot on the Official Fan Fantasy league table.

Patrick Dangerfield (135) led the way for the Fantasy Crows and must come under serious consideration for the captaincy this week. Fellow Crows Sam Jacobs (101), Scott Thompson (117), Rory Sloane (104) and Matthew Jaensch (90) also posted huge totals in Adelaide’s Thursday night blockbuster against the Pies.

A sub-affected score from Matthew Crouch (20) was the only Crow letdown but fortunately it mattered little towards the final result. Crouch now has a break even of 86, so vote below on whether we hold on to ‘Junior’ or make the call to upgrade to a premium in our price range, with many gun mids currently ripe for the picking.

Young guns David Swallow (115) and Tom Langdon (105) continued their rich vein of Fantasy form, as did Dayne Beams (107) and Scott Pendlebury (101) despite falling to Adelaide at the #Crowval on Thursday night. Richmond’s Dustin Martin (115) notched his biggest total of the season after a few below-par scores to prop up our forward line.

Arch rival Port Adelaide is our next target in another important head-to-head matchup. The Power are in fourth position just below us on the Fan Fantasy ladder, which means another Crows win this week will widen the gap between the top three contenders and the chasing pack.

This weekend is the final bye round, but thankfully we are well-prepared with 24 players in the mix to play this week.

We are in a strong position with all of our cash cows likely to surpass their break evens this weekend.

However, we could take the opportunity to bring in Geelong’s Jed Bews who has a break even of -20. Downgrade defenders are scarce in AFL Fantasy, and Bews could provide us better bang for our buck than Sam Shaw given his bargain price.

It’s up to you now, 19th Man. See our team below and cast your votes now to help us win this week’s Fantasy Showdown as we continue our charge up the Fan Fantasy ladder.
