CEO Andrew Fagan says negotiations continue with the Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority as the Crows looks to seal an improved stadium deal ahead of the 2015 Premiership season.
Adelaide, Port Adelaide and the SMA began a review of the Adelaide Oval stadium deal back in July amid claims of poor earnings by the Crows and Power despite record attendances.
The move to the CBD from AAMI Stadium has been an outstanding success overall for the Crows, but Fagan said there was still plenty of work to be done.
"The review is certainly not complete, the result of the move to Adelaide Oval hasn't delivered what we'd expect… it's not an acceptable outcome as it is," Fagan said.
Adelaide exceeded all expectations prior to the stadium's opening, averaging the highest home crowd in the AFL (48,046) for Season 2014.
Apart from the Australian cricket team, the Crows averaged the highest home crowd of any side, in any sport, in the country.
Fagan said the Club would like to see its share of revenue at Adelaide Oval reflect that status.
"Negotiations will continue.
"They're being held in the appropriate spirit but there's a bit of work to do."
With a new CEO, a new Senior Coach in Phil Walsh and several esteemed coaching assistants such as Ryan O’Keefe, David Teague and Darren Glass joining the Club, Adelaide expects 2015 to be an exciting season for The 19th Man.
Speaking on radio station FIVEaa following the release of the 2015 AFL Premiership Fixture, Fagan said he was pleased with the Club’s schedule for next year.
“There’s a lot to like there,” he said.
“I’m pretty happy. I think the footy department is happy in terms of travel schedule, I think the sponsors will be happy with the slots, and I think our fans should be happy in terms of a mix of timeslots.
Adelaide will host four night games at Adelaide Oval, including a Thursday night blockbuster against Hawthorn in Round 12. The Crows are also at home for Indigenous and Multicultural Rounds in 2015.
“We’ve got a solid fixture, and there’s plenty for our supporters to be excited about.”
The Crows will also face just three top-eight teams from this year in the opening 10 rounds of 2015.
But Fagan said it was naïve for any club to start looking too far ahead.
“I think it’s fraught with danger to start picking winners in October.
“I’m pretty certain we haven’t kicked a footy in anger to date.
“I don’t think ‘Walshy’ will be looking at it and thinking it’s anything but 23 tough rounds of footy.”
