It was an extraordinary moment Josh Warren will remember forever – even minus the high-five.

The Henley High Year 8 student had a front row view of Eddie Betts’ brilliant first quarter goal at Adelaide Oval last Saturday night and then co-starred on the countless replays, sharing the celebration with the players.

Although Josh’s eager effort to earn a high-five from Betts was unsuccessful on the night, he didn’t mind.

“I was just so excited,” said Josh, who plays for Glenelg’s under 14 talent squad. "Once the ball left his boot I just knew it was going in straight away.

“I was watching the ball and then I turned around and Eddie was right in front of me. He was looking straight at me. About five minutes later we had received about 20 texts on dad’s phone.”

Betts remembered “the kid with yellow sleeves”. So after calling out on Twitter to try to find him, we invited Josh to training and Eddie presented him a signed photo of the celebration.
