The Adelaide Football Club would like to advise that long serving and highly regarded Chief Executive Officer Steven Trigg is stepping down, after accepting an offer to join the Carlton Football Club.
Trigg, who has been at the Crows for nearly two decades including more than 12 years in the top job, will continue with the Club in a limited capacity for the next four weeks.
The 52-year-old has made a significant impact, leading the Club’s move to the redeveloped Adelaide Oval, overseeing ongoing strong financial performance, establishing elite Club and training facilities, and the introduction of the Crows’ State League team, amongst many other achievements.
“I have loved the job but after more than 12 years, the time is right for me, and for the Club, to move on,” Trigg said.
“The Club is financially strong with a powerful asset base, and the young and ever improving team plays in one of the world’s best stadiums.
“We have a record membership and the second highest home match attendances in the competition, pointing to more successful times ahead.”
Adelaide Football Club Chairman Rob Chapman was full of praise for Trigg’s leadership and contribution.
“There is absolutely no doubt Steven is one of the most influential people to have come through the doors,” Chapman said.
“He is a powerful leader and administrator of the highest standard, and we wish him the very best.
“Steven has helped forge a strong culture, and ensured this Club is a respected opponent both on and off the field for years to come.”
Trigg started at the Crows in the premiership year of 1997, working in communications and membership. He took over as Chief Executive Officer from Bill Sanders at the end of 2001. Since then, the Club has been part of eight finals series, including four preliminary finals.
The Club will conduct a national and international search for a new Chief Executive Officer.
