Tom Lynch will return to play his first match in over a month when Adelaide’s SANFL team clashes with Sturt at Unley Oval on Saturday.
Lynch dislocated his shoulder during the Crows’ trial match win over Greater Western Sydney early last month, but avoided any major structural damage.
The 23-year-old's rehabilitation has progressed ahead of schedule, allowing him to make his first appearance for Adelaide’s new SANFL side this weekend.
Ruckman Shaun McKernan will also line up for the SANFL Crows after a being rested last week with late-onset concussion.
State League coach Heath Younie said the pair would bolster the side significantly following the SANFL Crows’ disappointing loss to North Adelaide.
“Those two guys add some great experience into our side, which is something we probably lacked a little bit last week,” Younie said.
“Sturt had a solid win in Round One, so it will be another great test for our boys. We will be pushing pretty hard to get our first win on the board this Saturday.”
Jason Porplyzia has been named on the interchange after sustaining a heavy cork late in the third term last week.
Cam Ellis-Yolmen, Sam Shaw, Mitch Grigg, Luke Brown and Brodie Martin have also been included in the AFL squad of 25, but may be released to play in the SANFL.
The match kicks off at 2.10pm Saturday afternoon at Envestra Park with free entry for all Crows ticketed members. Fans can also listen to the game live on radio station Life FM.
Round two of the SANFL starts on Friday night, with West Adelaide hosting the Eagles. On Saturday afternoon, Central District is at home to Norwood and North Adelaide plays South Adelaide at Prospect. The round is completed on Sunday when Port clashes with Glenelg at Alberton Oval.
