Patrick Dangerfield received his first coaches’ votes of the season on Sunday, scoring a perfect 10.
Dangerfield was judged to be the best player on the ground by Brenton Sanderson and Leon Cameron after amassing 33 possessions, nine clearances and five goals in a dominant display.
Milestone man Scott Thompson, who collected a game-high 38 disposals and nine clearances, earned eight votes in his 250th game.
Defender Matthew Jaensch (five votes) and ruckman Sam Jacobs (three votes) were both rewarded for career-best statistics. Jaensch picked up a personal best 29 touches and 13 marks, while Jacobs surpassed his previous career-high with 25 possessions, 20 hit-outs and eight marks.
Young defender Kyle Hartigan earned his first-ever votes from the coaches. Hartigan was part of a defence that restricted Giants tall trio, Jeremy Cameron, Jon Patton and Tom Boyd, to a combined total of three goals. Hartigan had 14 disposals including nine intercept possessions. He also ranked equal-first in the League for marks from opposition kicks (five) on the weekend.
NAB Rising Star nominee Matt Crouch also collected his first vote following an impressive performance in which he won 28 possessions and took 10 marks in three quarters of game time.

Geelong skipper Joel Selwood didn’t poll any votes in the Club’s win over Hawthorn, but remains at the top of the overall leaderboard of the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year award with 34 votes. Gary Ablett and Nick Riewoldt both earned maximum (10) votes to bridge the gap and sit in equal second place on 30 votes apiece.
