Wedding bells are ringing for another Crow after Nathan van Berlo got engaged to partner Jess Holtham on the weekend.
Nathan and Jess took advantage of a rare weekend off by heading to the Barossa Valley, where the Crows skipper popped the question. The ultimate professional, ‘VB’ still found time for a bike ride during the romantic weekend away as he continues his rehabilitation from an Achilles injury.
The skipper follows in the footsteps of teammates David Mackay and Matthew Wright, who are both in wedding planning mode after proposing to their respective long-time partners, Sarah and Anna.
A number of Crows players and coaches used the split round weekend to get away for a few days.
The Crouch brothers, Brad and Matt, hosted Taylor Walker in Ballarat. Rory Sloane and partner Belinda hit the surf in Byron Bay after a quick stopover at Dreamworld.
Eddie Betts, partner Anna and son Lewis escaped the winter weather in Noosa, while Patrick Dangerfield and SANFL captain Ian Callinan braved the cold in Moggs Creek and Tasmania, respectively.
Daniel Talia also went home to Melbourne to catch up with friends and family, including younger brother Michael who plays at the Western Bulldogs. Ruckman Sam Jacobs headed back to the Yorke Peninsula to lend a hand on the family farm and watch local footy club, Ardrossan play.
Coach Brenton Sanderson took his young family to Kangaroo Island, where he bumped into Brent Reilly and wife Jamie.
