Crows ruckman Reilly O’Brien believes the game was lost in the midfield and that he has “plenty of improving to do” before Round Three.
Adelaide suffered a devastating 75-point loss to cross-town rivals Port Adelaide in the first round back of football since March.
O'Brien was one of his side's best against the Power with 16 disposals, eight intercepts, three contested marks and eight contested possessions - but was still not pleased with his individual performance.
“I wasn’t particularly happy with my game,” O’Brien said.
“Did some okay things, my marking was ok, but around the stoppages I was pretty disappointed.
“The midfield was where we lost the game and I was a key part of that group.
“We need to rectify that and I have a lot of improving to do.”
The 202-cm ruckman said contest work and defensive transition would need to improve before Round Three.
“Those are the key parts of our game that really hurt us,” O’Brien said.
“We weren’t able to adapt.”
One bright side from the match, however, was the debut of 19-year-old Ned McHenry.
The Crows number 25 was presented with his guernsey pre-game by close friend O’Brien.
“Lived with him when he came over… I have a really good relationship with Ned,” O’Brien told AFC Media.
“He’s worked really hard and will be a great player for the Club.
“It was awesome to have him in the team because he brings so much energy and enthusiasm… he just runs all day.
“I thought he played well considering the amount of opportunities.”
McHenry finished the 12 touches and four score involvements.
