Adelaide defender Daniel Talia has detailed the players’ delight in returning to contact training.
Three players, however, seemed to enjoy it a bit more than the rest, according to the 28-year-old.
“Fog (Darcy Fogarty) was loving it… Rory Sloane was putting his hand up,” Talia said.
“He (Sloane) is a maniac trying to run through everyone.
“Tex (Taylor Walker) was bubbly today, he really enjoyed bashing into everyone.
“Every guy had a smile on his face… we were sick of just running.”
FIXTURE NEWS: AFL releases fixture for next four rounds
Adelaide will face Port Adelaide in Round Two at Adelaide Oval on June 13 in the Club’s first match since the AFL season was suspended.
Talia said the next two and a half weeks would be a grind to get themselves match ready.
“The guys have done so much conditioning, but it’s not the same as competing against one another,” he said.
“We have to push it the next couple of weeks… we’ve got no other option.
“Every club will be in the same position, everyone is in the same boat.
“Next few weeks we just have to grind and look forward to games.”
The AFL announced the next four rounds of the fixture on Monday morning, which requires the Club to relocate to the Gold Coast.
Talia, who has a young daughter, said it would be tough to be away from his family.
“It’s a thought you have as a parent (being away),” Talia said.
“But we want to play footy and everything possible to make that happen.”
