Adelaide defender Wayne Milera has lauded Matthew Nicks’ efforts in staying in contact with his players during the AFL suspension period.
Milera told AFC Media that Nicks had promised players he would be in regular contact throughout the isolation period - a promise the Crows coach has since kept.
“He’s reached out a lot over this period,” Milera said.
“He made a promise to the boys when we left, that he would regularly check-in on us.
“He’s definitely done that for me.”
Earlier this year, Nicks confirmed Milera would be a future leader of the football club.

In February, the 22-year-old signed a five-year extension with the Crows.
Like many of his teammates, Milera managed to raid the Club gym to establish a suitable workout setup for home.
After more than six weeks of uncertainty, “Junior” said he was thankful to see light at the end of the tunnel.
“It’s refreshing knowing a potential return date of games and even training… we’re almost there,” Milere said.
“When we finished up there was no real idea, everyone was in the dark.
“It’s good now we have more of an idea and hopefully it’s just around the corner.”
Outside of football, Milera was keeping himself busy with “odd jobs around the house” and university study.
