Adelaide forward Taylor Walker will be glued to Channel 7 in 2020 after one of his best mates was confirmed as a contestant on Big Brother.

The reality show, which has been revived for the third time, will feature Mat Garrick, a close friend of Walker’s from Broken Hill.

Walker told Triple M’s Roo & Ditts described Garrick as a “very, very funny man”.

“We had a wedding in mid-February, the next day he said ‘righto, I’ll see you when I see you’,” Walker said.

“We started guessing what he was doing, had no idea where he was going… as it turns out, he was on Big Brother.

“He’s super intelligent, has got very good wit and is very funny.”

In the coming weeks, AFL clubs are expected to start training in larger groups - pending approval from federal and state governments.

Walker praised the AFL’s decision to keep everyone on a level playing field before the season’s return.

“I think it’s a great idea that the clubs all have three weeks,” Walker said.

“Do what you have to do, then we’ll be playing.

“Obviously the (interstate) boys are in isolation for 14 days, whether training restrictions get relaxed through that period we’re still unsure.

“If it does, we can get back together, a three week lock where all teams will start on the same date.

“If we get back playing, hopefully we can put a smile on everyone’s face.”
