Defenders Rory Laird and Wayne Milera Junior have polled coaches’ votes in Adelaide’s Round One loss to Sydney.
Laird received two votes after collecting 19 disposals against the Swans, including 10 intercept possessions, while Milera earned one vote for his 15 disposals at 87 per cent efficiency and 353 metres gained.
Matthew Nicks and John Longmire both recognised Isaac Heeney as the best player on the ground, with the dangerous forward booting four goals to lead the visitors to a three-point win.
