Crows forward Riley Knight has undergone successful minor surgery on Friday to rectify ongoing Achilles issues.

Head of Science and Medicine Steve Saunders said the injury had prevented Knight from completing full training sessions over the past three weeks.

“The primary issue for Riley relates to ongoing irritation of the fat pad and bursa between the Achilles tendon and the heel bone,” Saunders said.

“The procedure was minor with nothing done to the tendon itself. We expect Riley to be running again in 7 to 10 days.

“He’s had another solid pre-season so we expect Riley to progress quickly post-surgery and be ready to play within 4 to 6 weeks from now. This makes Round 3 our target return to play date.”
