Adelaide’s Fan Fantasy side blitzed Port Adelaide in last weekend’s all-important Fantasy Showdown.
The 19th Man has now coached our side to a hat-trick of wins so far in 2014, with the Fantasy Crows a game clear on top of the AFL Fan Fantasy ladder. Our team is the only undefeated side in the league after the first three rounds of head-to-head matchups.
The Fantasy Crows downed the Power on the back of a mammoth score of 2110 points, with many of our own steering us to victory. It was a timely decision to move Round Five AFL Rising Star nominee Matt Crouch (110 points) onto the field, while fellow Crows midfielder Rory Sloane (108) and ruckman Sam Jacobs (110) also posted big scores.
Patrick Dangerfield (149) and Matthew Jaensch (127) rose for the occasion, with the duo notching their biggest Fantasy scores of the season. Brenton Sanderson was also doing his best to help us out by bringing in defender Sam Shaw (53) to bolster our bench cover.
Swans veteran Jarrad McVeigh (104) and Power midfielder Jared Polec (110) were solid contributors along with Collingwood duo Scott Pendlebury (127) and Dayne Beams (131).
Gary Ablett (119) did the job for us again as captain with another strong Fantasy performance. Ablett will now carry the role until further notice such has been the overwhelming support for the Suns’ skipper.
But there are other issues to resolve in our midfield heading into this week’s clash with Brisbane.
Xavier Ellis (2) is ripe to upgrade after suffering a first-quarter calf injury during West Coast’s loss to Port Adelaide. Ellis is in doubt to play this weekend for the Eagles, but may struggle to reach his break even if he does lace up the boots.
Dom Tyson’s (46) score was also disappointing, giving us an opportunity for a double trade to upgrade to a reliable midfielder likely to rise in value, alongside a fresh Fantasy cash cow.
View our team below and vote on which two midfielders should be traded into our side as Adelaide’s Fan Fantasy team looks to continue its unbeaten run in 2014.
