Adelaide defender Tom Doedee, fresh off induction into the Crows’ leadership group, admits he “can’t stand” actor Adam Sandler.
But the 22-year-old was full of praise for Sandler’s new movie, Uncut Gems.
Speaking on Adelaide radio on Wednesday afternoon, Doedee - who is known for his movie reviews on Twitter - said the latest Sandler flick was a must see.
“If you want a really intense, anxiety ridden movie, (watch) Uncut Gems,” Doedee said.
“It’s NBA orientated but more about problem gambling… every scene is edge of your seat.
“(I) can’t stand him (Adam Sandler), but this is a different kettle of fish.”
Switching to football, Doedee described his selection in the Crows’ 2020 leadership group as “humbling”.
Regarding his leadership style, Doedee said he would try to “set the example”.
“I’ll try not to be too demanding or negative,” he said.
“If I do have feedback, (I’ll) try to approach it in the right way.
“With our big draft, it (last year) gave me a chance to work with the young defenders and the top-up boys to impart some wisdom on them.
“It kept me involved and gave me something to do… and kept me from pulling my hair out in rehab.”
Adelaide announced its full leadership group at the Club’s Fan Fair on Tuesday night, headlined by Rory Sloane as sole captain.
Joining Doedee as a new addition to the group was fellow defender Brodie Smith.
“He’s one of the good ones,” Doedee said.
“We’ve got some terrible jokesters (at the Club)... Smithers does it well, pulls back a bit and waits for the right moment.
“Hopefully he keeps his jovial side.”
