The Adelaide Crows community team is in Whyalla this week delivering the Club’s popular Growing with Gratitude school program to the local children.
The program aims to improve the mental health, thoughts and habits of primary school children, developing an attitude of gratitude by promoting kindness, mindfulness and happiness with 200 schools and 40,000 students involved across South Australia this year.
Adelaide COO Nigel Smart said the Club was keen to support the Whyalla community during this time of uncertainty.
“As a Club we felt the need to support the community and the children specifically with the positive messaging that our Growing with Gratitude schools program provides,” Smart said.
“It is a very engaging program and provides the children with the necessary tools to help them cope with life’s uncertainties.”
The program specifically focuses on the 'Five Habits of Happiness’ which are:
- An attitude of Gratitude
- Random Acts of Kindness
- Positive Reflection
- Being a Wellbeing Warrior
- Operation Home Service
The schools visited are:
- Long Street Primary School
- Whyalla Stuart Primary School
- Nicolson Avenue Primary School
- Hincks Avenue Primary School
- Samaritan College - Our Lady Help of Christians Campus
- Samaritan College – St Theresa’s Campus
