Adelaide will wear its Indigenous guernsey for the second time this year against Port Adelaide in Showdown 47 on Saturday.

The Crows will don the Andrew McLeod design in honour of National NAIDOC Week, which kicks off on Sunday.

NAIDOC Week, which runs from Sunday July 7 to Sunday July 14, celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year’s guernsey design, as explained by Club legend McLeod, pays homage to the Torres Strait Islander culture through nine different elements.

The Club approached Port Adelaide about the opportunity to also wear their Indigenous guernsey, however the request was denied by the AFL due to a potential jumper clash.

The Crows and the Power will face off at Adelaide Oval from 4.05pm on Saturday.
