ADELAIDE forward Kurt Tippett's chances of playing against the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium on Friday night have significantly improved after scans cleared him of any damage to his injured shoulder.

Tippett was substituted at half-time of the Crows' loss to West Coast at AAMI Stadium on Saturday after injuring his left shoulder in an attempt to tackle in the second quarter.

On Monday, the club indicated Tippett was almost certain to miss the clash with the Bulldogs, but the 203cm goalkicker has made marked progress in the last two days.

He took part in a light skills session on Max Basheer Reserve on Wednesday, and will make the trip to Melbourne provided he completes the club's final training session of the week on Thursday morning.

Tippett leads the Crows' goalkicking this season with 18.

Star forward/midfielder Patrick Dangerfield is also expected to play against the Dogs despite nursing a thumb complaint.

The Bulldogs are hopeful of regaining Brownlow Medallist Adam Cooney, forward Barry Hall and defender Brian Lake for Friday night's clash, with the trio also facing fitness tests on Thursday.
