The Crows will spend two days in Clare and South Australia’s Mid North next week for the Club’s 2016 Australia Post AFL Community Camp.

The Australia Post AFL Community Camp is part of a national program, which provides AFL Clubs with an opportunity to visit regional and remote communities across Australia, allowing locals to get close to their AFL heroes.

As part of the Community Camp, Adelaide players will visit in excess of 40 schools and meet more than 3,000 children across the Mid North on Monday and Tuesday.

Local kids are invited to attend a free football super clinic at Clare Oval from 4:30pm – 5:30pm on Monday, February 15. There will be an opportunity to meet Crows players and get autographs and/or photos.

A group of talented young footballers in the region, who are part of the Woodville-West Torrens Football Club Academy, will also meet with Crows coaches for a training session at Clare Oval.

On Monday evening, the Club will host an official Community Camp dinner, which is open to the public, to raise funds for the local football league. The dinner will be held at The Valleys Lifestyle Centre in Clare from 6.30pm.

On the way to Clare on Monday afternoon, Crows players will visit schools in the following towns: Watervale, Balaklava, Freeling, Kapunda, Tarlee, Hamley Bridge, Owen and Mallala.

On Tuesday, there will be more community and school visits before the players head back to Adelaide. Areas covered on the second day of the Community Camp include Clare, Blyth, Auburn, Manoora, Gladstone, Laura, Saddleworth, Eudunda, Brinkworth, Snowtown, Farrell Flat, Burra, Wasleys, Crystal Brook, Spalding, Booborowie, Robertstown, Jamestown, Georgetown and Riverton.

The school visits will include exciting young Adelaide Crows forward Riley Knight, who hails from Clare, visiting his former primary school, St Joseph’s in Clare, on the Tuesday morning.

This is the 13th year that the Australia Post AFL Community Camp initiative has reached far and wide across Australia. The Crows have previously been to Murray Bridge, Fleurieu Peninsula, Barossa Valley, Yorke Peninsula, Port Augusta, Mt Gambier, Riverland, Naracoorte and Port Lincoln last year.
