MINUTES after his club's new slogan was announced – promising Adelaide would "fly as one" in 2015 – coach Phil Walsh implored his players to live up to such fine words and make every second count.
Speaking at the club's launch of its 25th season in the AFL, Walsh reiterated his belief that the Crows' playing group had worked as hard as any he'd been involved with in 20 years.
After telling AFL.com.au the time had come for Adelaide to redefine itself, CEO Andrew Fagan addressed the audience and revealed the four pillars by which it would stand: team first, courage, high performance and its authenticity.
He also confirmed the club would introduce a Hall of Fame on April 29.
Walsh then introduced the 2015 playing group and told them they would represent a "no shortcuts footy club" under his reign.
"This team has worked as hard as any I've been a part of in my 20 pre-seasons in AFL footy – success is within their reach," Walsh said.
"But we need total commitment not just from a few but from everyone.
"We often live in a world of 'shoulda', 'woulda', 'coulda'; gentlemen your time is now – don't waste one second.
"You've got to go and chase success – it doesn't come looking for you – there's no secret recipe; what's required is hard work, elite standards, attention to detail and a fierce competitiveness every time you put on that Crows' jumper."
The Crows will take on Port Adelaide on Saturday in their final NAB Challenge hit-out before taking on North Melbourne in round one at Adelaide Oval on April 5.
