Crows Senior Coach Don Pyke will announce the name of the Club’s first selection at the AFL National Draft to be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Tuesday night.

Under the revamped format, each of the 18 clubs will have its first pick read out by the Senior Coach (or a Club representative if the Senior Coach is unable to attend) regardless of where the club’s first selection sits. This will occur after the club has 'locked in' its first pick using the new draft software.

AFL Chief Executive Gillon McLachlan will announce the remaining selections.

The top 10 players will be presented with their Club jumper by their new Senior Coach. Following the selection of draft pick No.10, the 10 players will be welcomed back to the stage in their jumpers.

The Crows currently hold pick Nos.9 and 13 in the draft, but these could change as a result of the introduction of the new Father-Son/Academy bidding system. Learn more about how the bidding system works, and how it could affect the selection order. As was the case in 2014, the selection order will commence from No.1 rather than the top 10 countback used in previous years.

For the first time, clubs will use new, purpose-built technology to lock in their selections. Club representatives won’t even be sitting in the main arena this year. Instead, they will be located in a back room at the Adelaide Convention Centre, partitioned off from the other clubs.

Each club will have access to the electronic application that is central to the new draft night, which has been developed by Champion Data and the League over several months.

Recruiters will type in the name or draft identification number of the player they wish to select and press ‘submit’. The question 'Are you sure?' will flash up before they finalise their selections. The shifts in structure have been designed to make it more of a TV event.

The NAB AFL Draft Meeting starts at 6:30pm (SA time). It will be broadcast nationally on FOX FOOTY, FIVEaa, 1116 SEN, ABC Radio and 3AW.
