Adelaide and Gold Coast have met six times, with the Crows winning all six meetings.

This will be Adelaide’s fourth trip to Metricon Stadium to play the Suns. The Crows have an average winning margin of 56 points in three matches against Gold Coast at home.

The Suns recorded their first win of the season last weekend, comfortably accounting for the Brisbane Lions by 64 points in the Q-Clash at Metricon Stadium.

Scott Thompson holds the record for most possessions by a Crow against Gold Coast. Thompson amassed 51 disposals in Adelaide’s win over the Suns at Metricon Stadium in Round 22, 2011.

Daniel Talia willplay his 50^th consecutive game this weekend. Talia’s streak ofconsecutive games started in Round One, 2013.

The Gold Coast Suns rank third in the League for contested possessions behind only Collingwood and the Sydney Swans. Of Gold Coast’s total possessions, 43.7 per cent are won in a contest. In contrast, the Suns are 16^th in uncontested possessions.

The Crows and Suns are the second and third best clearances teams in the League.

Gold Coast ball magnet Dion Prestia is the No.1 ranked clearance player this season with 46.

Prestia is also ranked 14^th in the AFL for total disposals. Of Prestia’s 142 possessions, 76 have been contested – ranked fourth in the League.

The Crows and Suns will both be aiming to improve their efficiency inside 50m. Adelaide (third) and Gold Coast (sixth) excel at getting the ball inside their forward 50m, but rank 14^th (Gold Coast) and 12^th (Adelaide) respectively in percentage of goals per inside 50m entry.

Adelaide captain Taylor Walker has kicked 14 goals in his three career matches against the Suns. This includes a bag of five in the most recent meeting between the sides at Adelaide Oval in Round 11 last season.

Charlie Dixon has provided a strong target for the Suns since returning to the team a fortnight ago. Dixon has kicked eight goals in two games, including a bag of six against the Lions last weekend.

Suns onballer Harley Bennell is ranked ninth in the competition for inside 50ms (27), one behind Crows wingman Brodie Smith (28). Bennell is also equal-third in goal assists (seven). He’s been involved in 27.6 per cent of Gold Coast’s scores – more than any other Suns player.

The Crows have the highest kick-to-handball ratio (1.62) in the competition.

Patrick Dangerfield holds the record for most Crows goals against Gold Coast, having slotted six in the first-ever clash between the two teams at AAMI Stadium in Round Eight, 2011.

Dangerfield is ranked top-10 in the League for tackles (30) in Season 2015.

Michael Rischitelli has gained more metres (2,535) than any other Sun – ranked seventh overall. Brodie Smith is second in the League, with 2,768 metres gained this season.

Adelaide ruckman Sam Jacobs is second in the AFL for hit-outs (185) and third for hit-outs to advantage (51).

Two of Gold Coast’s top three possession winners against Adelaide last season will be missing when the teams do battle on Saturday night. Former No.1 draft pick David Swallow, who had 37 possessions and kicked two goals in Round 11 last year, and captain Gary Ablett are both sidelined with injuries.

The Crows will be without prime mover Richard Douglas (foot) and are sweating on the fitness of influential onballer Rory Sloane (calf). Brad Crouch, who didn’t play last time these teams met, is also absent from Adelaide’s engine room because of injury, while Jaeger O’Meara is out for the Suns.
