The threat of omission from the team will ward off any complacency this weekend against the Brisbane Lions, Adelaide interim coach Scott Camporeale says.
The Crows will enter Saturday night's game as scorching favourites after their 112-point win over Essendon last weekend but can't afford a lapse as the race to the top eight nears its finish.
The likes of Matt Wright, Mitch Grigg, Sam Kerridge and Cam Ellis-Yolmen are just a few players in great touch at SANFL level.
Camporeale said he didn't expect the players' mindsets to be an issue against the Lions because they knew that underperformance would he harshly punished.
"The depth and the amount of guys we've got in good form as well; it's ok to have a healthy list but you need guys in form as well to put pressure on the guys above you," Camporeale said.
"We've definitely got that.
"They know that if they don't perform on the weekend they're under real pressure to hold their spot – we'll pick the best team on form and the win against the opposition.”
Selection will be particularly tough this weekend given midfielder Richard Douglas has been declared available after a two-week absence due to an appendectomy.
"If we keep wining then there's the opportunity to play finals…I doubt there would be a mental lapse having those three things in front of mind," Camporeale added.
Adelaide was brutal in its demolition of the Bombers last weekend, which was further evidence the Club is playing season-best football as the business end nears.
On Monday small defender Luke Brown said the side had to "keep hunting" its opposition if it was to firstly qualify for a finals campaign but then cause damage in September.
Camporeale agreed and said the type of football the Crows had displayed over the past month was finals quality.
"The way we need to play, the way we've pressed and pressured opposition teams the last three or four teams is the standard we want to keep getting to," he said.
"That's finals-type footy."
