Richard Douglas could make his return against the Brisbane Lions at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.

Douglas, 28, has missed the past two games after undergoing surgery to remove his appendix. The 2010 Crows Club Champion has started running again and will aim to prove his fitness at Adelaide’s main training session on Wednesday.

The possible return of Douglas adds to the selection squeeze at the Crows, who reported no new injuries at either AFL or SANFL level over the weekend. Rising Star nominee Jake Lever was subbed out of the clash with Essendon at three-quarter time, but the decision was based on management rather than injury.

Rookie Keenan Ramsey also finished on the bench in Adelaide’s SANFL game on Sunday. Ramsey suffered a corked shin, but is not considered in any doubt for the clash with Sturt on Saturday.

Douglas, draftee Harry Dear, who sat out the Club’s loss to Woodville-West Torrens with a minor ankle complaint, and defender Sam Siggins (wrist) are all rated as tests this week. This leaves only three players, Brad Crouch (foot), Matt Jaensch (knee) and retired veteran Brent Reilly unavailable for consideration this weekend.
