Patrick Dangerfield cemented his status as one of AFL Fantasy’s hottest commodities with a monster score against the Dockers at Adelaide Oval.

Going head-to-head with Fremantle star Nat Fyfe, Dangerfield racked up a season-high 38 possessions, eight tackles, four marks and a goal to collect 147 points – his best total of the year. Ironically, Fyfe (150) was the only man to outscore the Crows midfielder in the Saturday night clash.

It was Dangerfield’s second-best Fantasy score of his career, just two points shy of a 149-point performance against the Giants in Round Five of last season. It was also the best output by a Crow in a single match so far in 2015.

Dangerfield ranked fourth of all players for Round Nine with his third Fantasy ton on the trot. He’s now scored six triple-figure totals this year from nine games and is No.12 overall in the comp for average points per match.

The two-time All Australian will soon soar beyond the $600k price bracket if his form continues, particularly with a break even of 73 this weekend.

Fellow midfielder Scott Thompson also continues to deliver on the Fantasy front, notching yet another 100-plus score on the weekend.

The evergreen veteran relished the soggy conditions on Saturday night to finish with a career-high 14 tackles and 20 disposals for 116 Fantasy points.

‘Thommo’ has enjoyed a consistent year following a delayed start to his 2015 campaign. He’s only missed the triple-figure mark twice in seven games and – along with Dangerfield – is one of only two Crows to average over 100 points per game.

By the numbers: Round Nine

Underrated defender Rory Laird is emerging as one of the great Fantasy stories of the year.

The reliable backman was the third Crow to reach the Fantasy ton against the Dockers, finishing with 109 points from 27 possessions, three marks and a career-best eight tackles.

It was Laird’s best Fantasy total of his career and his first century for 2015. He’s shown he can be a consistent contributor with four scores in the 90s this season.

Quality mid-priced defenders are always hard to find. Now valued at $418,000 after rising by $72k since the start of the year, it might be your last chance to jump on Laird before his price tag becomes out of reach.

The next three names on the Fantasy score sheet all continue to provide great value for coaches who were willing to roll the dice at the start of the season.

Nathan van Berlo (99) produced his highest score of the year and his best Fantasy total since the 2012 Semi Final win over Fremantle. He’s grown by $82k this year and still has several price rises left in him.

Cam Ellis-Yolmen (93) returned to Fantasy form after a quiet performance in Round Eight and still has more money to make.

Left-footer Mitch Grigg continued his consistent output with a season-best score of 90 and is slowly growing in Fantasy reputation. Given his dual-position versatility, Grigg is sure to grow in popularity in the coming rounds.
