Kyle Cheney was the equal-best intercept player in the AFL in Round 12. Cheney earned 12 possession gain points according to Champion Data level with Melbourne defender Lynden Dunn.

Cheney and Kyle Hartigan each took five intercept marks on Thursday night – ranked equal-fourth for the round.

Scott Thompson was the leading possession-getter on the ground on Thursday night, racking up 32 touches to go with eight clearances, four tackles, three inside 50ms and a goal assist. Thompson led the competition in hard-ball gets (11) on the weekend.

Only Carlton veteran Andrew Carrazzo won more contested possessions (20) than Thompson (19) and Crows teammate Rory Sloane (19) in Round 12.

The Crows kept the Hawks to season-low disposals (351) and marks (80) on Thursday night.

Sloane earned four free kicks – the equal-most of any player for the round.

There were a remarkable 23 goalkickers on the ground – 13 Hawks and 10 Crows.

The Crows lost the tackle differential (-19) against Hawthorn. Adelaide has only lost the tackle count and won the match once this season, against St Kilda in Round Seven.

Despite the loss, Adelaide remains in seventh spot on the AFL ladder as a consequence of other results in Round 12.

The crowd of 50,023 was the second-highest home and away attendance for a game between the Crows and Hawks. It was the biggest crowd for an Adelaide match this season, and the sixth-best of all-time for a Crows home game.

The Crows rank third in home attendances this season, averaging 45,981 people per game. Richmond leads the way (56,894) ahead of Essendon (53,944) which has played one fewer home game.
