LAST WEEK’S NEWS
It was a hard-fought victory but we got the job done.

For Fantasy coaches, the game got off to the worst possible start with our favourite rookie, Cam Ellis-Yolmen (MID, $360,000) starting in the dreaded green vest. Unfortunately, he came onto the field in the third quarter replacing Rory Sloane (MID, $471,000) who has to be the unluckiest player in the AFL. He suffered a broken cheekbone and sadly will miss up to six weeks.

Ellis-Yolmen smashed out a quick 57pts in short time and just when his position in the team was looking shakey, this injury might just save him for the time being.

Scott Thompson (MID, $528,000) had a great game with 113pts along with Charlie Cameron (FWD, $272,000) who had 74pts. I’ve been talking up Brodie Smith (DEF, $343,000) for weeks now, and he scored 71pts and now carries a break even of only 58 and must be traded into your team this week.

ON THE RADAR
Rory Laird
(DEF, $470,000) has now averaged 95pts in his last three games and is ranked as the eighth best defender over this time. For his price, he’s a bargain at the moment and is coming off a score of 76 on the weekend, his first score under 100 in the last month.

With the byes now behind us, now is the time to be upgrading those rookies and Laird is a top option.

WHAT’S COMING UP
This week, the Crows host Geelong at Adelaide Oval on Sunday afternoon. Patrick Dangerfield (MID, $590,000) will hope he can improve on his record against them as he’ll likely need to shake off a tag from Cam Guthrie. He was held to just 68pts last year, but has form on his side this time and will likely post another 100+ score this week.
