The Crows have teamed up with children from Fulham North Primary School to support major partner Toyota’s involvement in Planet Ark’s National Tree Day (NTD).

National Tree Day was in late July, but the Adelaide players were out in force on Monday reminding everyone to support this significant environmental cause all year round.

Led by Toyota ambassadors Taylor Walker, Nathan van Berlo and Patrick Dangerfield, the Crows have supported National Tree Day for a number of years, rolling up their sleeves, and getting their hands dirty to plant hundreds of trees across Adelaide.

Defender Luke Brown said it was a great community program to help to educate and create a society in which people understand the value of their environment.

“Every tree we plant to support National Tree Day has a positive impact on the future of our planet and helps to preserve the current environment,” Brown said.

Proudly supported by Toyota and co-founded by Planet Ark and Olivia Newton-John, National Tree Day and Schools Tree Day is this year celebrating 20 years of making a difference to the Australian environment.

Since its inception, more than 3.5 million Aussies have planted some 21 million trees and shrubs across the country. More than 200,000 people took part National Tree Day across 3,000 planting sites last month.  As part of its global commitment to sustainability, Toyota has sponsored Planet Ark’s National Tree Day for the past 16 years.

“Toyota has a long tradition of supporting Australian communities to globally improve the environment, and we enjoy digging in to do our bit for National Tree Day each year. Our staff has their shovels ready to support this great cause and give something back to our community,” said Phil Iannunzio, Regional Manager Central Region.
