Preparations are underway for AFL Fantasy 2015 following the release of Adelaide’s full list of player prices and positions.
The old adage goes that games are often won and lost in the midfield, and AFL Fantasy is no exception, so our first Crows Fantasy preview begins with our men in the middle.
It comes as no surprise that Rory Sloane ($592,000) tops the price list.
Sloane was the only Crow to average more than 100 points per game in 2014, and he also posted the biggest score by a Crows player in a single match (160pts v Brisbane in Round 20).
He is surprisingly underrated behind the top-line premiums in the AFL Fantasy world and could provide a reliable point of difference to any side.
Sam Jacobs ($550,000) on the other hand is widely regarded as the No.1 ruckman in AFL Fantasy.
Coaches must pay a $50k premium for ‘Sauce’ in 2015 after he topped the list for total points scored by a ruckman last year. But at just 26 years old, the 202cm Crow is in the prime of his career and will be worth every penny.

A number of mid-priced Crows also represent good Fantasy value.
After spending 2014 on the sidelines, Nathan van Berlo ($272,000) will be hungry to make an impact this year. The hard-running midfielder is a steal at his current price and is sure to swell in value as the season progresses.
2013 AFL Rising Star Runner Up Brad Crouch ($524,000) is another sound selection, but younger brother Matt Crouch ($350,000) could prove even more popular in 2015.
A score of 110 from 28 possessions in Round Five last season, despite being substituted at three-quarter time, was enough for Crouch to win a Rising Star nomination as well as the adoration of Fantasy coaches across the country.
Brodie Martin ($367,000) is another mid-priced Crow who could be great value. Martin enjoyed a career-best season last year that saw his price rise by over $200k including a solid finish to the season with six scores above 80 points from his final eight games.
Jarryd Lyons ($314,000) and Sam Kerridge ($288,000) are stars in the making and are also generously priced. Both men love a goal and could pocket Fantasy coaches some extra cash if given enough opportunity at senior level.
Martin, Lyons and Kerridge are all dual-position MID/FWDs and one or two of the trio would provide great flexibility to any side.
Young Crows pair Cam Ellis-Yolmen ($120,000) and Rory Atkins ($120,000) loom as bargain candidates for the bench as both men hunt more opportunity at senior level.
Ellis-Yolmen had his first taste of AFL football in 2014 while Atkins says he’s ready to step up after an impressive season with the SANFL Crows.
