Reliable Crow Courtney Cramey has taken out the Crows Women’s Best Defensive Player award.
Cramey provided a cool head in the back half for the majority of the inaugural AFLW season, with coach Bec Goddard describing the 31-year-old as the team’s ‘defensive general’.
She earned All Australian selection in a back pocket at the W Awards on Tuesday night.
The highly-respected South Australian state captain ranked equal-sixth in competition for rebound 50ms (17) and led the Crows for spoils (14) and smothers (seven) through the home and away season.
Cramey, who also enjoyed stints in the midfield, was one of the most influential players in the Club’s thrilling Grand Final win over the Brisbane Lions.
The victory was Cramey's fifth women's premiership, having previously won one flag with Sturt and three at Morphettville Park in the SAWFL.
A strong leader on and away from the football field, Cramey also acted as a mentor to her younger teammates.
