Last year’s No.1 draft pick Tom Boyd could make his AFL debut against Adelaide on Sunday.
With Giants’ ruckman Shane Mumford set to miss the Round Five clash with the Crows, GWS may turn to the 201 cm Boyd to bolster its tall timber stocks. Boyd edged closer to a debut after booting three goals for the Giants reserves in the NEAFL last week. Boyd was among the UWS Giants' best in their 18.20 (128) to 1.11 (17) thrashing of Belconnen.
Jono O'Rourke, the Giants’ No.2 pick from 2012, also pushed his case to return to the AFL side following a best-on-ground display. Young ruckman Andrew Phillips and ex-Bulldog Dylan Addison were other standout contributors who may come into the side to face the Crows this weekend.
