The Crows are off to Naracoorte for their 2013 Australia Post AFL Community Camp.

As part of the national program, the entire Adelaide playing group will visit the state’s upper-south east on February 18 and 19 to conduct a series of school and community visits and coaching clinics.

Since the inception of the program a decade ago, the Club has visited Murray Bridge, Riverland, Fleurieu Peninsula, Port Lincoln, Barossa Valley, Yorke Peninsula, Port Augusta, Mount Gambier and most recently, Berri.

Adelaide has a strong commitment to the community through its Crows in Schools and Clubs programs, as well as regular camps and trips to the APY Lands. As part of the Naracoorte visit, the Community Development team will present the Crows in Schools program, which has been delivered to more than 60 schools across SA.

The 2013 Community Camp will kick off with several school visits from midday on Monday, February 18.

On Monday afternoon, the players will host a free coaching clinic between 4:30pm-5:30pm at Naracoorte Football Club Oval, where children in the region will have the opportunity to meet the players, learn the basic skills of AFL football and collect autographs.

A highlight of the camp will involve coach Brenton Sanderson and Adelaide’s development coaches putting a group of talented junior footballers from the Glenelg Football Club Country Academy through their paces at Naracoorte High School, also from 4:30pm-5:30pm.

A dinner will be held at 6:30pm at Naracoorte Town Hall with players and coaches in attendance. To purchase tickets please contact Naracoorte Sportspower (33 Ormerod St, Naracoorte) on 8762 1769, or contact Tony Paget on 0427 808 405.

On Tuesday morning, the Crows will hold a light training session at Naracoorte Football Club Oval from 9:00am-10:30am, with more school and community visits to follow before the players return to Adelaide later that day.

Captain Nathan van Berlo says the group looking forward to the opportunity to meet the Club's regional supporters.

“We are proud of our relationship with regional South Australia and the visits from the boys throughout the year to several regional towns,” van Berlo said.

“It is something the group looks forward to as a whole - not only meeting our devoted regional supporters and giving something back, but being able to spend some time together as a group.

“I personally love the passion for footy that is always shown when we visit regional SA.”
