Lucky children from across regional South Australia formed a guard of honour at Adelaide Oval for Showdown XL to spur on the Adelaide Crows.

The youngsters, who were chosen from the CRT Country Crows program, lined up and cheered the team on as they ran onto the ground in preparation for the Showdown clash.

The Adelaide Football Club and CRT (Combined Rural Traders) have joined forces once again to deliver the CRT Country Crows program to regional South Australia this year.

The Country Crows program, in its seventh year, will feature two coaching clinics in regional SA with clinics planned for Paskeville on May 4 and Strathalbyn on July 5 led by player ambassadors Sam Jacobs and Brad Crouch.

The ‘host’ junior football club will receive a sports kit consisting of a sports bag, footballs, horn, markers and caps.

With around 15 per cent of our record 60,000-plus membership based in regional SA, the CRT Country Crows program further connects our team with regional members and supporters while also developing the next crop of budding young footballers and potential Crows draftees.

Each student that attends the CRT clinics will receive a show bag consisting of football, cap and other Crows giveaways as well as the experience of being taught the fundamental skills of the sport by players themselves.

CRT Spokesman Peter Cook said the organisation was proud to continue its partnership with the Adelaide Football Club and take football to regional areas.

"Both CRT and the Adelaide Crows get terrific support from Country SA so we are both really pleased to be able to get local communities involved in the program,” he said.
